OmniOne aims to help individuals realize their self-sovereign identity with a decentralized Omni-ID that combines FIDO(Fast Identity Online) standard and a blockchain-based DID technology, thereby providing new value to society and individuals.

Through Omni-ID, OmniOne is not only building an identity infrastructure that integrates identities around the world but also provides a market place to induce market competition and to promote free sales and purchasing activities of Omni-ID-based verification claims.

Background

Currently, identity is the most basic linchpin connecting us to our national and global infrastructures; thus, it is essential for basic participation in educational, financial, healthcare, welfare, and political systems. 1.5 billion people in Asia and Africa are not officially registered with any government. For these individuals, a basic identifier, such as date of birth, is not established, thus alienating them from access to public services and seriously infringing on their basic rights. Without a reliable ID system, it seriously hampers the government to important public functions, such as taxation, disaster recovery, disease-outbreak prevention, and national security. Based on the above, OmniOne wants to provide a new Decentralized Identity Platform that provides the foundation for a better life for all people.

    Right now more than 3.4 billion people lack a basic identity that can be used for online services. This leads to problems like unbanked, underbanked and disenfranchised people.

Why Decentralized ID

  • Centralized identity stores have many problems, starting with the centralization of data itself, which leads those systems to be the target of hacking, a burden of responsibility for protection of managers, and concurrency of customer information
  • Decentralization solves all of these problems by:
    • securely implementing DID (Decentralized Identity) Blockchain based technology with biometrics; and
      actualizing Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) where data is directly controlled by the identity owner, not a third party, is needed.

Service Ecosystem

In ecosystems utilizing the OmniOne Protocol, costs are reduced through the exclusion of identity or authentication brokers in the current system. The expansion and use of the ecosystem is accelerated when Issuers and Service Providers directly participate. As more Issuers and Service Providers continue to participate on the ecosystem, it will increase the reliability of the service infrastructure and enable cross-service authentication as well.
